5 Easy Ways You Can Support Your Local Small Businesses
ONE. Go to your local farmers market to buy fresh locally grown vegetables. They’re healthier too. Many farmers markets also sell fresh flowers. You may have to look a little bit harder but there are many local farms that sell fresh foods as well in the Chippewa Valley.
TWO. Eat at a locally owned restaurant or eatery next time you go out with your friends or family. What you may not know, many local restaurants also buy some of their food locally as well which makes this a great choice.
THREE. Many local stores offer unique or even handmade products from local people. Even if you don’t need anything, local stores are a great place to buy gifts for others.
FOUR. Support local artists and musicians. There are many ways you can enjoy the arts in your community. I know that Eau Claire and Altoona both put on weekly music events in the summer months. There are also many art shows, bands, dance, theater, and other performances all year around. A few places you can check include the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, Heyde Center for the Arts, and Children’s Museum of Eau Claire.
FIVE. Adopt a pet from your local animal humane shelter. They may just be a pet to you, but you could be their everything. You can start your search by visiting the Eau Claire County Humane Association or Chippewa County Humane Association.
